1853 Seated Liberty Half Dollar with arrows and rays
Seated Liberty Half Dollar Value in general holds very well. There are seven different varieties of this silver coin. All are 30.6mm and have a reeded edge, but they have three different weights. 13.36g for 1839-1853, 12.4g for 1853-1873, and 12.5g for 1873-1891. The big reason for this has to do with the Gold rush driving up silver prices and the later large silver strike at the mine called the Comstock Lode.
